Ford India, the domestic arm of the American auto maker, has started delivering its much appreciated compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) EcoSport in Bangalore. Sources close to the development process revealed that the model has been shipped to the authorised dealerships of Ford India, named Metro Ford and Cauvery Ford. It must be noted that the auto maker officially introduced its much awaited model in the last week of June. With the launch of EcoSport in India, the auto maker has kept its commitment of offering a performance oriented vehicle for the price sensitive Indian buyers.
Expressing his views at the occasion, the President and Managing Director of Ford India, Joginder Singh was quoted as saying, “It’s a great day today as our most awaited Urban SUV, the Ford EcoSport is getting delivered to our customers here in Bengaluru. We are very happy to see the phenomenal response of customers since its launch. EcoSport sets new standards in India’s SUV industry classification through its design, development and sensible value proposition. With the launch of the EcoSport we stand true to our commitment to offer India the best of Ford.”
Individuals interested in EcoSport can purchase its base model for Rs. 5.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Industry experts are of a view that the launch of EcoSport has raised the bars of compact SUV segment, owing to its compelling value for money proposition. In order to cater the diversified demands of domestic buyers, Ford India has introduced 10 variants of its new model across four trims. The option of three performance oriented engines in both manual and automatic transmission system has been also offered with 2013 EcoSport. It must be noted that the aggressive pricing of Ford EcoSport has lured the Indian buyers from miles, who are probably looking for alternate body styled models.
