Car maker Volkswagen has commenced deliveries of 2015 Passat in Germany. This sedan is based on the new MQB platform and features a new design that has optimised its efficiency by reducing its weight. According to reports, the 2015 Passat is expected to launch in India by 2015. Volkswagen is increasing its foothold in India and the Passat is expected to make the brand more popular.
The new Volkswagen Passat features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, which has replaced the analog version from the earlier one. Several safety and comfort features have been added to the new Volkswagen Passat along with LED head and tail-lamps.
Volkswagen Passat is going to be offered across the globe in ten various engine options, which would include turbocharged TSI petrol and TDI drivetrains. The diesel version of Passat will be fitted with the 2.0 litre TDI engine that churns out 148 BHP along with 340 Nm of peak torque. However, the USP of the new range is going to be the turbocharged 2.0-litre diesel version, which is expected to churn out 236 BHP of power and top torque of 500 Nm.
