Maruti Suzuki India Limited is the largest car manufacturer and the second largest car exporter in India. The company has designed its AutoExpo pavilion with the theme of ‘Joys of Life’ which reflects its parent company theme – Ways of Life. The company will showcase 17 vehicles at the event which will also include its concept vehicles and upcoming launches.
"Maruti is all set for a world premiere of Concept R3, its first compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) concept, at the forthcoming Auto Expo 2010 in January," the company said in a statement. The vehicle has been conceptualized, designed, engineered and developed in India in a span of nine months. The new model is a multi-purpose vehicle built from scratch that will be the main attraction at the Maruti pavilion.
Apart from its scintillating concept vehicle, Maruti will also showcase its new small car model ‘Eeco’ that has been specifically developed for the Indian market. "Eeco comes with a new, powerful and highly fuel efficient 1200 cc engine. This new engine delivers 73 bhp of raw power @6000rpm, a high torque of 101Nm@3000rpm specifically designed to meet the Indian driving conditions," said a Maruti release.
Maruti is also importing its luxury sedan model ‘Kizashi’ exclusively for the Auto Expo. The model is not India-bound soon but may be introduced at a later stage. It has already hit the roads in Japanese and the American markets.
