Audi A4 has been named as the “Best of All Classes” in the DEKRA Used Car Report for 2011. Possessing many other attributes, Audi A4 has managed to earn this accolade as it has the lowest fault rate. Audi claimed the first place for the fourth consecutive time, since the introduction of this report. Another popular model of the luxury car maker, Audi A6, was the second runner-up.
Every year, “Best of All Classes” title is bestowed upon the vehicle with the lowest fault rate by the DEKRA experts. For this, vehicles across the three mileage classes are analyzed. Since the initiation of these awards in 2008, Audi has invariably won the award for offering the most reliable car with the lowest fault rate. In the past three years, Audi A6 won the title, which went to Audi A4 this year. This highlights the enduring quality of the mid-size model, which can be availed from dealerships across the country. The latest model, with new and improved look and technology, is available since January.
Earlier known as the ‘Faults Report’, the Used Car Report stated that the DEKRA testing organization scrutinizes vehicles in terms of quality and safety. DEKRA examined around 15 million vehicles across eight different categories. For specific vehicle category, a particular fault profile was created in the three mileage classes. The car that has the best average in all the three mileage classes is adjudged as the “Best of All Classes.”
The winning car maker Audi Group recorded sales of around 1,092,400 cars in 2010. In 2010, it registered revenue of € 35.4 billion as well as recorded € 3.3 billion operating profit. Audi in India delivered around 3,003 cars in 2010, registering 81 percent growth.

The new Audi A1 is being manufactured at the Brussels plant since 2010. The brand with the four rings presently has its presence in more than 100 markets across the globe.
The wholly owned subsidiaries of Audi AG are AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft., Automobili Lamborghini Holding S.p.A. (Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy) and quattro GmbH (Neckarsulm). The company has a global workforce of 60,000 employees, including 46,600 working in Germany. Audi plans to invest over €11 billion between 2011 and 2015, primarily in new products. The company plans to do this primarily to maintain its technological lead embodied in its slogan, “Vorsprung durch Technik”. Moreover, the German automobile manufacturer aims to have around 42 models in its portfolio by 2015.
