Datsun to introduce the India-made Redigo in Sri Lanka in September

The India-made Datsun Redigo will go on sale in Sri Lanka in September 2016. The carmaker will launch the hatchback through Associated Motorways (Private) Ltd. (AMW).
The Redigo will be manufactured in India and then exported to Sri Lanka. AMW will then take care of the distribution and sales of the car in the island nation. This dealer network is Nissan's long-time partner in the country and will now also be responsible for the Redigo sales that begin next month. This dealer plans to set up five sales and service outlets each in the country over the next one year.
Variant-wise pricing of the Datsun Redigo will be revealed close to the car's launch. While the Redigo is priced at Rs 2.38 lakh in India, the Sri Lankan price should go up by 2.5 times since the car will be introduced as a CBU unit.
Vincent Cobee, Global Head of Datsun, said, “The return of Datsun to Sri Lanka is a key element of our expansion in fast-growing markets where there is growing demand for personal mobility. Datsun's key values – Dream, Access and Trust – are designed to accommodate the needs and aspirations of up-and-coming customers who seek attractive styling, modern engineering, worry-free ownership, and an engaging driving experience. We are delighted to return to Sri Lanka with Datsun Redigo to expand our offer in the largest vehicle market segment to a new generation of Sri Lankan customers who are ready for something new and exciting."
The launch of the Datsun Redigo will mark the carmaker's re-entry into the Sri Lankan market. The brand was first introduced to the island nation in 1957. The hatchback made its debut in the Indian market in June 2016 and will be introduced to more markets soon. This is a part of their plan to expand globally.
