Post its successful debut in India, Datsun has introduced its newest model Redigo in Nepal at NPR 1.39 million (Approx Rs 8.66 lakh) for the base variant and NPR 1.84 million (Rs 11.47 lakh) for the top version. The hatchback continues to be offered with similar engine specs and features as available in the Indian market.
Speaking about the car during its launch in Nepal, Sandeep Sharda, Managing Director, Pioneer Moto Corp., said, "The redi-GO aims to redefine the entry level car segment with its unique offering that combines the roominess, best in-class ground clearance and sheer fun of a crossover with the zippy driving and fuel efficiency of an affordable compact hatchback."
The Datsun Redigo is powered by a 799cc iSAT (Intelligent Spark Automated Technology) engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission which generates 53bhp of power and 72Nm of torque. In terms of fuel efficiency, the company claims that the Redigo returns about 25.17kmpl. In India, the Redigo has already received over 10,000 bookings. Sometime at a later date, Datsun might also introduce an AMT variant owing to rising demand for such cars in the country.
