      Datsun GO sedan to be unveiled today in Russia

      After launchingDatsunGo hatchback in India, Nissan’s low cost brand is all set to spin off a sedan in Russia.Datsunwill be unveiling GO sedan in Russia today, however the sedan will be launched in Russia by the end of 2014. To generate curiosity among the customers; the company had released a video and a sketch of the vehicle. Besides this, an exclusive website has also been created for the vehicle, though the company has not provided any information on the vehicle on that website. From the sketch it looks like the sedan has a robust posture and appealing semblance. Front profile gets similar grille as seen in GO hatchback and GOMPV.

      A lot is in common with GO hatchback, sedan looks strikingly similar to its petite sibling till the C pillar. An enhanced wheelbase will proffer ample legroom to the passengers sitting at the back.Datsunis likely to house GO sedan with a 1.2 litre petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 67Bhpalong with a top torque of 104Nm.Datsunis expected to price GO sedan around 380,000 rubles equivalent to Rs 7lakh.

      GO sedan will also be offered in India, but it will be inducted as a sub-four-meter sedan. The compact sedan segment in India currently has popular vehicles likeMarutiSwiftDzire, Honda Amaze, HyundaiXcentandTataIndigoeCS. A new entrant, the upcomingTataZest, will also join the band wagon, the sedan is likely to be launched during third quarter. DatsunGO hatchback has opened to a good response in India, the vehicle received over 2000 bookings within 10 days of its launch, turning out to be a major contributor in Nissan’s monthly sales in domestic market. The company will bring more products to India including a GOMPVwhich is expected to break cover by festive season.

      Resurrection ofDatsunseems to have worked in Nissan’s favour, the company is focusing on emerging markets, especially theASEANregion. These low cost vehicles will be a part of mass segment which is extremely popular in India.
