Datsun might introduce the Go-Cross compact crossover before the Redi-GO in the country, claims a report. Just you know, the Datsun Go-Cross concept was showcased last month at the Tokyo Motor Show. Vincent Cobee, Datsun’s global head, said that the company is focusing on the growth of its sales and service networks, and expanding its product portfolio in four growing markets – South Africa, Russia, Indonesia and India. The company will also bring-in a new product that will be built on the Renault-Nissan Alliance CMF-A platform by early 2016. The report further claims that the Datsun Go-Cross might be followed by its seven-seater version.

The Datsun Go-Cross concept shares some design cues and platform with the Go+ MPV. The vehicle receives LED headlights, bumper with silver chrome and black plastic extensions, a hexagonal grille with chrome bezel, auxiliary circular lamps and LED fog lights at the front end. On the sides, the car gets large wheels with chrome finish, silver lower body cladding and roof rails.

Though, the rear styling is completely different that we have seen on the GO+ MV and GO hatchback. There is a silver diffuser, bumper with pseudo air intakes and LED taillights. This sub-four meter crossover features a high ground clearance that will surely help it perform well on the rough Indian roads.

Upon its launch, the Datsun Go-Cross will face competition from cars like Ford EcoSport and Mahindra’s upcoming S101 MINI SUV (XUV100). The vehicle might be priced aggressively against its rivals, as it’s based on the company’s low-cost platform.
