      The electrification shift amongst the manufacturer is on a roll. Volkswagen plans on introducing up to 30 electric vehicles in their line-up by 2025. Joining them will be their German rival Daimler, who has revealed their plans to invest up to 11 billion USD (approx. Rs 7000 crore) into the development of electric vehicles.

      Daimler has said that it will work on introducing 10 electric models by the year 2025. Three of the proposed 10 vehicles will be under Smart brand and will have a range of around 700 kilometres, thanks to new battery technology. It plans to have electric vehicle comprise 25 per cent of its range by 2025.

      The new electric line-up from the German manufacturer will comprise of various body styles but will share the same modular electric platform. The EV range will be branded under the Mercedes-Benz’s new electric sub-brand Generation EQ, showcased at this year’s Paris Motor Show. As for now, we know the electric line-up will include a luxury SUV, followed by two electric sedans as well as a smaller crossover.
