Chrysler Group LLC, the wholly owned subsidiary of Italian automobile manufacturer Fiat, has devised a unique promotional strategy, by offering a $ 1,000 discount to owners of its biggest rival Volkswagen in United States. This December onwards, the American auto major is offering its new customers with one grand cash back, if they own a Volkswagen vehicle.

Evidently, Chrysler's parent owner Fiat S.p.A. of Italy is the German auto giant, Volkswagen's stiffest rival across all major European automobile markets. Further, the offer is also getting media attention as Chrysler models on which discount is applicable comprise Ram pick up trucks and variants of the new 2013 Dodge Dart, which are completely different from what Volkswagen offers.

A Chrysler spokesperson was quoted as saying, “We feel it will appeal to Volkswagen owners.” Remarkably, the unique offer from Chrysler is believed to be directed towards winning the faith of customers of its German counterpart.

Chrysler’s $ 1,000 cash back offer to Volkswagen honours was first reported by Automotive News and is a one-of-a-kind auto incentive schemes. In order to be eligible for the one grand discount, prospective buyers will just have to prove that they have leased or owned a Volkswagen model at least thirty days before buying the new Chrysler. Acknowledging Chrysler's overwhelming scheme, a Volkswagen spokesperson was quoted as saying, “We are glad to see we are on our competitor’s radar.”
