Despite a few Bugatti Chirons being caught on US roads, the brand had not made an official introduction in the USA even though its was seen at the Geneva Motor Show, Monaco, Le Mans and the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
With so many enthusiasts waiting to get a much awaited glance of this super car, Bugatti finally roped in the Chiron for its US debut at the 2016 Quail Motorsports gathering in California today. Bugatti claims that of the 200 orders taken for the Chiron, 30 per cent of these bookings are from US buyers.
Bugatti uses the same motor that went into the legendary Veyron albeit in a different state of tune. This monster pumps out 1500bhp using the 8.0-litre W16 motor with four turbos! Compare that to the Veyron’s 1360bhp. While the Chiron’s top speed is limited to 420kmph, the Veyron’s was shy of this speed by just 5kmph.
We have already shared another story about Bugatti’s intention to not introduce a convertible Chiron as of now. And this does surprise the masses as the brand was able to sell more convertible Veyrons towards the end of its time. Anyway, more on this later.
