General Motors will launch the much-anticipated Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV in India tomorrow (October 21, 2015). Bookings too will be commenced from the same day at the company’s outlets and Amazon. With Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner in its sight, the Chevrolet Trailblazer is expected to be priced between Rs. 25 lakh – Rs. 28 lakh (ex-showroom). The vehicle will be brought to India as CKD (completely knocked down) units, and then assembled at GM’s Gujarat-based unit.
Chevrolet Trailblazer
The Chevrolet’s SUV is powered by a 2.8-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that produces a maximum power of 200bhp at 3,600rpm, and a class-leading torque of 500Nm at 2,000rpm. Transmission option on offer will be a six-speed automatic. The SUV will come with a RWD (rear-wheel drive) system.
Based on GM’s ladder-on frame chassis, the Trailblazer measures 4,866mm in length, 1,902mm in width, and 1,834mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,845mm, and a fuel tank capacity of 76-litres. The SUV is assembled with 18-inches alloy wheels wrapped with 265/60 R18 tubeless tyres. On the exterior, the car features projector headlights, a dual port grille, LED daytime running lights, rear windscreen and LED brake lights with jewel effect.
As far as features are concerned, the SUV comes equipped with a seven-inch Chevrolet’s MyLink touch-screen infotainment system with iOS and Android support, premium upholstery, a dash camera with 32GB memory, rear view mirror, dual airbags, reverse camera with chromatic LCD monitor, ABS with EBD, ESP, cornering brake control, etc.
