Chevrolet is set to unveil an all-new compact sedan at the fast approaching Auto Expo 2016. While the show car will arrive as a concept, the production-spec model will be based on the next-gen Beat small car and will go on sale in 2017.
In terms of styling, it is expected to don a similar look as the 2016 Chevrolet Spark sold globally.
The car will be offered in both petrol and diesel form, with the petrol version featuring a 1,199cc four-cylinder engine with 77bhp of power and 106Nm of torque. The diesel version, meanwhile, will get a 936cc, three-cylinder unit that develops 56bhp of power and 124Nm of torque. Both these engines currently power the Beat and as one would expect, will come paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox in the upcoming compact sedan.
Besides the new compact sedan, Chevrolet’s show floor at the Auto Expo 2016 will include the Spin MPV, Cruze facelift, Trailblazer and even the Corvette sports car.
