General Motors is planning to introduce a hatchback variant of Chevrolet Cruze at the upcoming Paris Auto show in October 2010. At first the company will unveil the concept model later followed by the production model. "There will be some exciting news coming out of the Paris motor show and the Chevy reveal for the Australian market," revealed GM's Holden unit in Australia. However, it left the official announcement to be made by General Motors itself.
Details on the Cruze hatchback are rather scarce, but it's known the slinky four-door hatchback is planned for production sometime in 2011. The model is expected to be powered by 1.4L engine that currently features in the sedan variant. The car will be initially launched in the US market and later on in the global markets.
Chevrolet Cruze hatchback will be one of the four models slated for unveiling at the Paris Auto Show. Other models to be unveiled are Chevrolet Aveo, Orlando and a seven-seat people mover based on the same Delta II architecture as the Cruze hatchback.
