Chevrolet has recalled in excess of 1 lakh Beat diesels on Tuesday, with the exact number being 101,597. The company’s explanation for this is to inspect if there is any necessity to replace the clutch pedal lever, which has been cracking on heavy usage.This implies to all the Beat diesels that have been produced betweenDecember 2010 toJuly 2014. The company has notified owners of Beat diesel and the existing customers can take their hatchback to any of the existing 248 dealerships of the company.
"Quality and care are our highest priorities and we are committed to putting customers at the center of everything we do. If we foresee a potential issue, we ensure that it is corrected as soon as possible, as part of our complete commitment to customer satisfaction," the company said in a press release.
This is the second recall from General Motors in India. This July, the company had recalled Spark, Beat and Enjoy to fix the issue of keyless entry. This was causing an issue for buyers to locking and unlocking their cars. The affected cars are repaired without any cost at Chevrolet’s authorised service centres. The company is working closely with its channel partners to solve the issue and correction exercise to make it smooth.
