General Motor India Private Limited, a subsidiary of the American auto maker, is all set for the launch of its Chevrolet Enjoy model in the domestic passenger car market of May 6, 2013. Enjoy would be pitched in the Multi Utility Vehicle (MUV) segment and would be offered in both petrol and diesel powered options in the country.
Speaking of under-the-hood specifications, the Chevrolet Enjoy is powered by a 1.3 litre diesel engine, while its petrol trim comes fitted with a 1.4 litre motor. The Enjoy incorporates the 1.3 litre Smartech turbo-charged power-mill that can also be found in its Sail siblings. The 1.4 litre Smartech petrol engine generates a peak power output close to 94 bhp, and is peppy and makes driving Chevrolet Enjoy an enjoyable experience.
The Chevrolet Enjoy has ample space volume and immensely comfortable interior setting among its many strong suits. The stylish car has the capacity to seat 7 occupants comfortably with its class-leading headroom and legroom volume. The seats are tall and bolstered with rich upholstery. The quality of plastic used is top draw and Enjoy ticks all the points for a practical MUV option available in the Indian auto market.
Upon its launch, the Chevy Enjoy would take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Nissan Evalia and Mahindra Xylo models in the MUV segment. Industry experts believe that the Enjoy could come in an introductory price band of Rs. 6.5 lakh to Rs. 9 lakh in the country.
