Chevrolet’s premium saloon Cruze has been given few tweaks which includes integrated turn indicators on the wing mirrors, besides this the automatic variant has been tuned a tad to deliver higher fuel economy. The modified version is available for sale at Rs 13.7 lakh for the LT trim, the LTZ MT variant is being offered at Rs 15.19 lakh and the LTZ AT version is up for grabs at Rs 16.19 lakh (All prices mentioned are ex-showroom Delhi). Back in October 2013, Chevrolet had made some additions in the Cruze saloon that comprised of restyled bumpers and grille. Top end variants of Cruze got additional two airbags.
Under the hood is the mighty 2.0 litre four pot, 1,998cc, diesel mill that churns out a maximum power output of 166 PS at 3800 RPM along with a top torque of 380 Nm at 2000 RPM. Cruze is offered in two manual and one automatic variant, a six speed gearbox is affixed in both MT and AT trims. The saloon is proffered only in diesel version in India, however its rival car, Octavia is available in petrol trims too. The minor tweaks are said to be given in order to rev up sagging sales of the saloon in India.
Chevrolet is also planning to put on display the all new Chevrolet Cruze at the upcoming Beijing Motor Show which will start in April. Cruze’s new version will receive major upgrades and will be launched in 2015. At the unveiling of its newly developed Ecotec engines, Chevrolet also hinted at offering two of the engines from its new line-up into the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze.
