Hypercar enthusiasts have always sworn by the immense potential a Chevrolet Corvette always offered. Taking thins to the next level, its latest iteration, the ZR1 has been spotted undergoing test. Reports indicate that the new model will deliver higher power output figures, while also offering better aerodynamics. The new model is due for a public unveiling in August this year, while it might go on sale in 2018.

Based on what can be seen, the new Chevrolet Corvette seems to utilise the widened bodywork from the Z06, which gets multiple inlets to cool the differential, brakes as well as the engine. Though most part of the vehicle has been heavily camouflaged, it appears that the vehicle will get a revised front with new front splitter and enlarged air inlets. A prominent hump on the hood indicates on a presence of a supercharger. The sides get are adorned with blackened star-like spoke design. The rear gets higher positioned rear spoiler as compared to the soft-top version. The rear bumper also sports the traditional centre positioned quadruple exhaust.

Chevrolet has not spoken in detail about the engine specification yet, we believe it could be a get the tweaked version of the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine from the Z06. Currently, the engine produces 641bhp of power and 881Nm of torque. We believe that the new Corvette ZR1 might generate an additional 99bhp over the Z06 power figures. The new model will come loaded with Magnetic Ride Suspension, Performance Traction Management, and electronically controlled limited-slip differential technologies as the Z06.
