Chevrolet admitted that the identified cars need to head to dealerships as they have been diagnosed to have a problem with the operation of the curtain airbag. The car maker revealed that the chassis numbers range from DC400034 to GC416790. 7,968 Trailblazers are involved and all these cars rolled off the production line at the Sao Jose dos Campos plant between 6th April, 2012 and 26th November, 2015.

Chevrolet acknowledged that the presence of foam behind the roof and columns can affect the proper deployment of the curtain airbag in the event of a crash. This could compromise the protection of occupants and increase the risk of an injury. Dealerships will take close to 30 minutes to perform the repairs after the check-up. This includes the removal of the foam from the roof lining and the side columns.

Trailblazerowners can get more information on the Brazilian Chevrolet website or by calling the helpline. Chevrolet in India does not offer curtain airbags on its Trailblazer.
