      Chevrolet Beat - Reasons why it is a good choice in the hatchback segment

      Apart from global popularity of American carmaker Chevrolet, the brand has also been a strong name in the Indian automotive industry. The Beat hatchback from Chevrolet has been well known as a feature loaded stylish tall boy hatchback in India. Chevrolet Beat, is also known as Spark in International market. The Beat hatchback is sold in about 71 countries worldwide. A while ago General Motors owned Chevrolet Beat reportedly achieved 1 Million sales number.

      In India, the Chevrolet Beat is available in two fuel-type engine options and four models namely - PS, LS, LT and LT (O). The Petrol trim of Beat is powered by 1.2 Liter engine that generates about 80.5PS of power with 108 Nm of torque. Whereas the diesel trim is powered by 1.0 liter three-cylinder diesel engine that generates about 57.1 PS of power with 142.5 Nm of torque. Speaking more on the success of the hatchback, Arvind Saxena, President and Managing Director, General Motors India, said, “Chevrolet Beat has been appreciated for its technology and is increasingly selected by young buyers both in India and abroad. Following its huge success in India, the Chevrolet Beat was subsequently launched in other parts of the world.”

      The Chevrolet Beat delivers ARAI certified fuel efficiency figure of about 18.6 kmpl, whereas the diesel trim reportedly delivers about 18.6 kmpl. The Beat hatchback was also launched with an LPG alternative. Adding to it Alan Batey, Executive Vice President of Global Chevrolet, said, “Our small segment vehicles attract more new car buyers to Chevrolet than any other vehicles in the lineup, with more than 60 percent of buyers never owning a Chevy before.'
