Chevrolet Beat was considered one of the most successful hatchback variants in India after its launch few years back. The small car has proved that fact correct as the sales for this model reached one million recently. Chevrolet Beat has provided golden luck for General Motors, the renowned manufacturer, in more ways than one. The car was initially launched in India during the year 2009 but rapidly made progress due to its good looks and superior performance. However, as the sales figures started reflecting incredible success, General Motors introduced the model in other parts of the globe, as well. What came forth was impounding success as the model was able to rope in new customers for the General Motors. Riding high on the success of Beat, GM has now been able to find a foothold in many a place where it had no existence in the category prior to the release of Beat. The small car has been a flagship model for GM at many locations in the hatchback category.

General Motors India President and Managing Director Arvind Saxena was available for his reactions after the success of Beat. "Chevrolet Beat has been appreciated for its technology and is increasingly selected by young buyers both in India and abroad," he said. Incidentally, the Beat was launched in over 70 global markets including the likes of United States, Mexico and South Korea, where it has been the most successful. In fact, the sales perspective of the Beat is up by 10 per cent in the United States on the basis of year to date statistics. The export is carried out from the Talegaon manufacturing facility and is currently being sent to Chile in South America.

Alan Batey, executive vice president of Global Chevrolet said, "Our small segment vehicles attract more new car buyers to Chevrolet than any other vehicles in the line-up, with more than 60% buyers never owning a Chevy before. And a big chunk of the credit for inspiring young people to embrace the Chevy brand goes to Beat." The youth of today’s generation have showed their interest towards the small car segment in particular. Statistics reveal that more than 9 per cent of the buyers of this car are aged below 35.

The performance of this car has been exceptionally good right from the time of its launch. It was the only car in 2014 in its segment to get the coveted IIHS Top Safety Pick designation. Apart from the Beat, the Cruze sedan of Chevrolet has been performing exceptionally well with the model reaching the 3 million mark on the global sales statistics.
