Tata Motors and Castrol are working on a specialized low-cost lubricant for Nano. The research and development team of Nano is quietly working with Castrol Experts to offer a low cost lubricant for the car that does not undermine the engine efficiency and deliver the best fuel economy as well.
The R&D team from Tata Motors and team from Castrol’s technology center in the UK and India have been working closely since past 18- 24 months to develop the right blend of lubricant for the car. the main aim of these experts from both the companies is to develop a unique lubricant for one-of-its kind Nano so that its engine can withstand traffic conditions, wear and tear and yet it would be quite economical.
“I believe that Nano has a huge potential not just in India, but also in the developed markets,” said AS Ramchander, director (automotive) Castrol India. However, he further refused to divulge the details of investments made on the technological developments of the lubricant.
