The world seems to be finally overcoming the recession fear and the same is being reflected in the booming car sales. Scrappage scheme have already helped the auto makers worldwide to attain healthy sales figures and now the production figures from September reflect healthy growth signs.

The government scrappage schemes supported by tactical marketing campaigns from vehicle manufacturers have been very effective at encouraging the sales of new cars. This has had a combined effect of reducing average CO2 emissions by almost 30% on a new car for old car basis as well as putting safer vehicles on our roads. Consumers are buying smaller cars as these cars attract the full benefits of the scrappage scheme as well as lower CO2 taxation over the vehicle life,” says Kevin Gaskell, chairman of Motoring, UK.

Nearly every car maker is now looking at more eco-friendly and fuel-efficient models. Frankfurt Auto Show and recent Tokyo Auto Show both echoed these sentiments where only electric cars, hybrid cars and even hydrogen fuel cars dominated the entire shows. Nissan Leaf goes into production early next year and 2010 will have more hybrid cars and electric car models hitting the global roads.
