In a piece of news that has thrilled car aficionados across the globe, Italian automobile giants Bugatti have confirmed that the successor of Veyron is going to hit the market in 2016. Popular automobile website, Top Gear, reported that an official confirmation from Volkswagen’s design head, Walter de Silva, had been received, which claimed that the model will roll out by the end of 2015 or early 2016.

Speaking to Top Gear, de Silva said, “We’re working hard at Bugatti, but don’t worry, its coming. I cannot predict exactly, but at the end of 2015 or early 2016, we’ll see the new Bugatti.” A few tabloids and websites had reported earlier that the new model from Bugatti will be a hybrid model. Despite being a hybrid, the next after Veyron is going to churn out a power level of 1500 BHP, which would be significantly more than the currently existing model. What makes this model more intriguing that it is tipped to surpass a top-speed barrier of 270-mph, which has been reached by Hennessey Venom GT.

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport (Coupe) and Grand Sport (Roadster), the currently existing models, are powered by an 8-litre W-16 turbocharged unit that is capable of generating an output of around 1200 BHP and is mated to a 7-speed DSG sequential transmission. In addition, the successor of Bugatti Veyron is going to be a limited edition model and an exclusive car.
