      Bugatti confirms Veyron's successor to be named Chiron

      Bugatti has confirmed that their latest hypercar and also the successor to the Veyron will be named Chiron. The carmaker has finally broken silence after being tight-lipped about any of the developments relating to the car.

      The upcoming Bugatti Chiron is christened after Monegasque Grand Prix driver, Louis Chiron. He won every major Grands Prix for Bugatti in the late 1920-30s, and now we will remember him with the Bugatti Chiron named in his honour. According to Bugatti president Wolfgang Dürheimer, ‘The name of the best racing driver and the most successful Bugatti driver of his time for the best super sports car of the present day – that is the ideal combination.’

      The new Bugatti Chiron will premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016. Going by the exclusivity and the history of Bugatti's cars, the Chiron will undoubtedly be an élite car. Its production will be limited to 500 units only and there are reports saying that 120 have already been booked by previous Bugatti owners.

      Till date, Bugatti has organised special events for its clientele around the world. During these special previews, the automaker has also revealed vital information of the car. The Chiron will be based on the Vision Gran Turismo Concept and will be powered by the W16 8.0-litre quad-turbo engine churning out 1,480bhp of power and 1,500Nm of torque. Even by supercar standards, that is a massive amount of power that will propel the car from 0-100kmph in just 2.3 seconds. Eventually, it will also achieve the top-speed of 500kmph making it the fastest car in the world.
