Polo R Cup, ever since its beginning in 2010, when it was held in street race format in Pune has received wide attention of motor sport enthusiasts. While the finale of Polo R Cup 2011 was held at Chennai, this year the season finale would be held at one of the world's best F1 circuit, the Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida.
The Motorsport has so far been successfully organised by Volkswagen and has produced some great drivers, who have moved from here to international racing series. This year the drivers who are in the race of the title include Ameya Walavalkar with 384 points, who is followed by Sandeep Kumar with 307 points. The other contenders of the title are Avdumber Hede (277 points), Rahil Noorani (301 points), Avdumber Hede (277 points) and Saurav Bandyopadhay (237). As 2 races with 60 points each for the winner are still to go, the championship is still open.
India's largest motorsport sponsors and promoters, which include Volkswagen, MRF Tyres and JK Tyre have joined hands with Sidvin to organise the Festival of Speed, which will be held at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. The Festival of Speed will witness national and International races that will all be held in one weekend. The events which are part of the Sidvin Festival of Speed include Polo R Cup, JK Tyre National Championship’s and two other major International Championships - Round 2 of the MRF Challenge 2012 and the JK Racing Asia Series finale. The spectators will see close to 125 skilled drivers behind the wheels, who will display their talent and try to emerge as the winner.
