Following a dispute over intellectual property between Force India Formula One Team and its rival Caterham, a British court ordered Force India to pay a legal cost of over 650,000 pounds ($1 million) to its rival team. As per the high court, Force India needs to pay this legal cost within a period of 14 days.

This is not the first time when Force India has been told to pay legal cost by a UK court, as in March 2012, the team was told to pay a similar amount to its former wind tunnel partner Aerolab, owing to the similar dispute.

In a statement released on Friday, Force India said that its appeal against Aerolab, in which the later one was ordered to pay (Euro) 25,000 of damages for passing on some of Force India's aerodynamic designs to Caterham, was postponed, and the further hearing in this regard is expected to take place in the next few weeks.
