Bridgestone has confirmed that it would be investing 304.3 million USD in an effort to expand its Pune and Indore production plants over a span of five years. With this investment, the brand will be able to cater to the increase in tyre demand due to the growing number of vehicles on Indian roads.

Bridgestone expects the production capacity to increase by around 15,000 tyres per day after the plants are upgraded. After which it is expected that the total daily production from both the Pune and Indore plants will be around 41,000 tyres by the year 2022. Bridgestone also added that the increase in output will result in a substantial increase in man-power requirement.

Speaking about the announcement, Kazutoshi Oyama, Executive Director, Bridgestone India, said, “This investment affirms our commitment to expand Bridgestone’s footprint in India, which is one of the fastest growing markets in the world, and will enable Bridgestone India to be equipped with advanced manufacturing technology and processes that will allow us to better serve our customers with products of superior quality.”
