Bookings open for Datsun GO and GO Plus facelift

Datsun will officially launch the new and updated GO and GO Plus in the country next week on 10 October. The Japanese carmaker has commenced taking bookings of the duo across all authorised dealerships with a booking price of Rs 11,000.When launched this festive season, the Datsun GO and GO Plus will demand a slightly higher premium compared to the older model owing to the added features. According to reports, the price tag will see a bump of Rs 25,000-30,000 over the outgoing model.

The GO hatchback and its mini-estate version will be available across five trim levels and will debut two new body colours – Amber Orange and Sunstone Brown – respectively. Appearance wise, the subtle changes on the redesigned bumper include vertical LED daytime running strips integrated into the blacked-out insert. The grille is slightly tweaked and the overall appearance looks a lot more appealing than before. The rear bumper also gets subtle changes to keep things fresh. Additionally, both cars will be offered with 14-inch alloy wheels for the first time.

But the most prominent changes comes on the inside. The centre console will stack a 6.75-inch touchscreen infotainment system which will be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The dashboard will be thoroughly revised with a new instrument cluster, proper glove box, and a conventional handbrake lever between the seats. The feature list will see new additions in terms of power windows, electric mirror adjusts, rear parking sensors, dual front airbags, and rear window wipers.

Under the skin, things will certainly remain unchanged. The 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol motor which puts out 67bhp and 104Nm will come mated to the five-speed manual transmission. Although the duo gets a CVT transmission in international markets, we can expect an AMT in India but that will happen sometime later.
