The recent global recall of BMW’s popular sedans 3 Series and 5 Series will affect about 3,422 units of these cars sold in India. It is worth mentioning here that BMW has recalled as many as 1.3 million units of its 3 Series and 5 Series models in the global market to fix a possible fault with battery-cable cover. The recall will affect the cars sold in India with model year 2007 to 2010.

While announcing the recall, the company said in a statement, "In some remote cases, the battery cable cover inside the boot of these vehicles may be incorrectly mounted. This can result in the electrical system malfunctioning, the vehicle failing to start and, in some cases, to charring or fire."
