BMW X5M snapped in India; exterior and interior revealed

BMW that launched the new-gen X6 on July 23, 2015, is now planning to introduce the high-performance – ‘M’ – range in the Indian market. One of those performance cars will be the BMW X5M that has been snapped in the country. Revealed at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, the X5M is expected to be launched in India by the end of this year.

BMW X5M Center Console Snapped India

The X5M will be powered by a 4.4-litre TwinPower Turbo V8 engine that also does duty to the new X6. It is capable to produce a maximum power output of 575bhp at 6,000rpm – 6,500rpm and 750Nm of torque at 2,200rpm – 5,000rpm. This engine will be paired with an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic, coupled with 4WD (all-four wheel drive) system. It can accelerate 0-100kmph in 4.2 seconds, while maintaining a top speed of 250kmph.

BMW X5M Front Snapped India

This performance SUV will feature M-sport front and rear bumpers with BMW’s aero kit, 20-inches alloy wheels, ‘M’ badge on side inlets and quad-exhaust pipes. Features like BMW’s iDrive infotainment system, single-piece front sport seats, sporty red theme with M-sport steering wheel, gear-lever and instrument cluster, carbon-trimmed center console, and Head-Up display will also be on offer.

BMW X5M Rear Snapped India

 

BMW will bring the X5M to India as CBU (completely built up) unit, and then assemble it at its Chennai plant with 50% of localization. In global markets, the 2015 BMW X5M will rival the Land Rover Range Rover Sport, Mercedes GL63 AMG and Porsche Cayenne Turbo.
