      BMW uncovers new 6 Series Gran Coupe to rival Mercedes Benz CLS Class

      BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe, the newly designed and styled four-door coupe, was officially unveiled by the company recently. Being called a 4+1 by the German auto giant BMW, the new 6 Series Coupe is blessed with a range of new age technological features including Head-Up Display, Active Roll Stabilization, Driving Dynamics Control, Integral Active Steering, Bang Olufsen Surround Music System, BMW Night Vision, Lane Departure Warning System, Park Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Rear View camera, and many more.

      The car will be rolled-out in the US market by the mid-2012, where it is expected to prove a major competitor of Mercedes Benz CLS Class model. The car will be offered in three variants including 640i, 650i and 650i xDrive.

       

      2013 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe
       

      The base model BMW 640i will be carrying a powerful 3.0L Twin-Power Turbo V6 engine at its heart, which is capable of producing a peak power of 315 bhp along with a peak torque of 330 lb-ft. The higher model BMW 650 will be carrying a more powerful 4.4L Twin-Power Turbo V8 engine which is capable of outpouring 445 bhp of maximum power along with 480 lb-ft of peak torque. The top end model will be 650i xDrive, which will be carrying an all wheel drive system.

      The dimensions of the new BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe are as follows – Length – 5007mm, Width – 1894mm, Height – 1392mm, wheelbase – 2968, and boot space of 460 liters.
