      BMW to launch X7, X2 and X3 in 2018

      BMW, globally popular automaker has strong plans for the year 2018. The premium automaker will be launching its full-sized luxury SUV, the X7 followed by the X2 and the all-new X3 in 2018. The upcoming X7 has been spotted a few times undergoing road test in cities abroad. Post launch, it is expected to compete against the likes of the Audi Q7 and the Mercedes GLS. The anticipated line-up for 2018 will help the automaker to further strengthen its foothold in the global market.

      BMW X2

      The upcoming BMW X7 is expected to carry forth a fair amount of interior details from the first upcoming SUV under the Rolls Royce badge. It is believed that the premium SUV will be offered in three-row/7-seat and two-row/4-seat options. The X7 is based on the CLAR architecture and will sit alongside the 7 Series luxury sedan. Along with six and eight cylinder units, the new SUV will also be offered with a plug-in hybrid option. As for the top-spec variant, it might get a 6-litre V12 engine which generates 544bhp and 750Nm of torque. The vehicle will be offered in both rear-wheel drive and xDrive AWD system, while its suspension system is expected to be borrowed from the X5.

      BMW X7

      The BMW X2 comes forth as the third crossover after the X6 and X4 from the company’s lineup. The crossover is based on the UKL front-wheel drive platform from the Mini. The vehicle will be offered in two engine options – 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine and 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine options. The engines will come mated to either 6-speed automatic and 8-speed Steptronic automatic options, while xDrive all-wheel drive system will be offered on higher variants.

      BMW X3

      The German automaker also plans on launching the second generation of the X3 in 2018. Under the hood, the new X3 will continue to be powered by existing petrol and diesel engine options. Additionally, reports indicate that there might also be a more powerful X3 M variant that might be introduced at a later date. Good news does not end here though. BMW is also believed to be working on an electric version of the X3 which might be introduced sometime by 2020.
