      BMW to launch new Mini three and five door variants in November

      Bavarian auto giant, BMW will launch three and five door variants of all new Mini in India in the month of November. The new three door model will replace the present three-door Cooper model while the new five-door model will be introduced for the first time in India. The current Mini line-up also includes Convertible and Countryman models also.

      Underpinning the UKL front-wheel drive architecture, both the models are relatively larger than their predecessors. The three door variant measures 3821 mm long, 1727 mm wide and 1414 mm tall on the other hand the five-door variant measures 3982 mm long, 1727 mm wide and 1425 mm high.

      The company could put on offer only the Cooper or Cooper S models in domestic market, while the base Mini One could be excluded from the range. On the mechanical front, Cooper trims of both the models are expected to continue featuring 1.5 litre, three cylinder petrol and diesel engines. High-end Cooper S trim could be powered by a 2.0 litre, four cylinder petrol and diesel powertrains. In domestic market, five door variant of Mini will compete with the likes of Mercedes Benz A Class and BMW 1 Series. For the Indian market, BMW could price Mini three door model between Rs 28 lakh to Rs 30 lakh and Mini five door could carry a price tag ranging between Rs 30 lakh to Rs 32 lakh.
