      BMW reveals 2-Series Active Tourer MPV

      BMW has officially revealed its 2-Series Active Tourer MPV ahead of its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2014. It is the company's first ever front-wheel drive five-seat MPV, which will compete against the Mercedes-Benz B-Class.

      BMW 2-Series Active Tourer is surprisingly a very compact car measuring just 4342mm in length, 1800mm in width and 1555mm in height. With a wheelbase of 2,670mm, the vehicle offers an impressive interior space. The front facade of the 2-Series Active Tourer sports slightly forward-slanting BMW kidney grille which is flanked to the distinctive twin circular headlights. The side profile gets prominent swage line, while the rear end has short overhangs, Hofmeister kink in the rear side windows and L-shaped rear lights.

      The BMW 2-Series Active Tourer offers an impressive 468-litres of trunk capacity, which can be increased up to 1,510-litres. It will be made available in both petrol and diesel guise. The base spec 218i variant is powered by the 1.5-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 126bhp and 230Nm of torque. The vehicle accelerates to 100kmph from standstill in just 9 seconds and attains a top speed of 200kmph. The high-spec performance oriented 225i model has 2-litre petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 231bhp and 350Nm of top torque. It takes only 6.8 seconds to reach 100kmph from zero and, the vehicle can hit a top speed of 235kmph. The oil burner, 218d, will have the 2-litre 4-cylinder engine that produces 150bhp and 330Nm of torque.
