BMW M760Li to be introduced in India soon

While Mercedes-Benz took on the Indian market with the intention of providing the epitome of luxury with its Maybach vehicles, the BMW, on the other hand, intends to introduce high-performance luxury motoring. The Stuttgart-based carmaker has a top-notch S600 with an exalting V12 under the hood. The Bavarian V12, on the other hand, comes with M badging and as with everything with an M insignia, the M760Li is a wolf in a sheep’s clothing. The compelling 6.6-litre twin turbocharged behemoth belts out a colossal 610bhp and a whopping 800Nm and comes mated to an eight-speed Steptronic Sports transmission. The flagship can reach 100kmph from standstill in an impressive 3.7 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph. The carmaker’s xDrive all-wheel drive system comes as standard. The M760Li rides on large 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels done in cerium grey. An optional M-performance sports exhaust is also available.

The Luxo-barge gets M-badging all around the car. The M-performance bits are evident, with sharper front bumpers and M Sport exhausts. There is a V12 insignia on the door sills and on the C-Pillar. The inside of the M760Li is adorned with Alcantara, fine wood and aluminium finishes. The longer wheelbase results in more legroom for the rear passengers, to rival the Maybach of course. Being the most expensive 7 Series, the M760Li will be offered with all the bells and whistles the Bavarian carmaker has on offer.

The Bavarian carmaker intends to bring in the top-of-the-range flagship sedan in India in order to establish dominance in the ultimate luxury spectrum of the Indian market. The current range-topper M750Li retails Rs 1.62 crores (ex-Delhi), so expect the new M760Li to be priced somewhere between Rs 2-2.5 crore. With the pricing, the Bavarian Luxo-barge will be a fitting rival to the Mercedes’ S600 in the Indian market.
