In an attempt to outdo rivals, players in the luxury car segment have been devising new strategies. The slowdown prevailing in the Indian auto market has compelled companies to resort to measures that are beyond the usual. Realising the value of customer loyalty, firms are establishing service centres. Joining the bandwagon is German car maker BMW, which has introduced the 'BMW Secure Assistance' program, which will provide on road assistance to its customers. Industry experts believe that this initiative is likely to establish a rapport among customers.

According to reports, this initiative will feature a fleet of 17 Customer Service Vehicles (CSV) that will operate throughout the country. All of these 17 cars, a part of the 'BMW Secure Assistance', will be the BMW X3 Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV). Industry experts believe that by adding this service, the auto maker will be looking to extend support to customers across the country, something that is usually related to mass brands. As per this program, the BMW dealership network is expected to help customers who require any sort of assistance while on the road.

Philip von Sahr, President of the BMW Group India, spoke about this assistance program. "Premium brands require premium service. By supporting our product portfolio with best in class after-sales initiative like 'BMW Secure Assistance', we are setting new benchmarks in customer orientation and after-sales support. A fleet of a specially equipped BMW X3 across our dealer network is a best in class practice amongst premium brands and is focused to exceed the customer expectations and create customer delight," he said.

In the global market, BMW is known for providing exceptional roadside assistance services. Sources claim that the technical team at BMW has been working really hard on designing a system that is efficient in terms of functionality, concept and viability. The CSV fleet will come with some advanced features, which will help the technician to provide a comprehensive solution to the problem of customers. In addition, a car that is part of this fleet has the capability of accommodating three people, in case they want leave from the site. Some salient features of these specially equipped cars include batteries for jump start facility and special tools.

Analysts feel that the BMW Secure Assistance program is going to receive a positive response from customers in India. Experts believe that given the kind of traffic conditions that prevail in India, it is essential for customers to get a comprehensive assistance facility. Sources claim that the fleet in operation for the India program has been designed according to the country's conditions. Features like enhanced visibility, reflective warning decals and a highly advanced security system are sure to make this program one of a kind.
