BMW India has revealed its prices of 2015 line-up of M Performance cars. They have launched the all new BMW M3 at Rs.1.19Crores and M4 Coupe at Rs.1.21Crorer in India. Both these cars are based on the German manufacturer’s latest nomenclature classification.
The M3 is essentially a 4-door performance sedan while the M4 will be offered in a 2 door trim only. The massively fuel hungry engines of the last generation have been replaced by a more efficient 3.0-litre straight six configuration which are powered by twin turbochargers. The power figures for these new cars stand high at 431PS and 550Nm of torque. Both these cars are offered with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission box and an optional manual can be opted too, which would be comparatively more expensive than its automatic counterpart. The maximum speed has been kept to 250kmph. This engine has a 0-100km/h acceleration timing of 4.1 seconds.
The brakes of the new M3 have been upgraded and the ride quality has been further stiffened to make sure the new M3 takes corners with greater ease. Going by modern innovations, electric steering replaces the earlier hydraulic assist unit. There are three different modes which a driver can specify to make sure the suspensions can be tweaked as per one’s own wish.
Inside the BMW M4, everything feels just as similar as in other BMW cars. Analog dials and gauges still maintain its pivotal place with a 6.5inch tablet display for infotainment screen mounted on the dashboard. This screen does not submerse inside the dashboard like that in Audi cars. BMW’s famous i-Drive does the duty of controlling the electronics easing convenience of use.
