BMW introduces a new trim 'Expedition' in X5 line-up priced at Rs 64.9 lakh

Bavarian auto giant, BMW has launched a new trim in BMW X5 line-up, christened , ‘BMW X5 Expedition’. X5’s new trim is priced six lakhs cheaper than the top end version at Rs 64.9 lakh (ex-showroom price). BMW X5 Expedition is deficient of the third row as available on the Design Pure Experience variant, hence Expedition model is a five seater. The new variant comes devoid of some of the features offered on the regular model such as adaptive LED lights have been replaced with bi-xenon head lights in Expedition model. LED fog lamps are also missing in the new trim that is offered on the standard model. Various other contrasting features available on Expedition model include Steptronic eight-speed transmission instead of the Steptronic Sport tranny. Expedition trim comes embedded with a nine-speaker music system while the standard trim is bestowed with 16-speaker Harman Kardon system. BMW has cut down on several other BMW Apps and navigation system or hard drive function. A 16.5 inch display with CD drive is incorporated inside the cabin. Even the i-Drive system comes devoid of handwriting recognition feature that is proffered as standard on high-end variant.

Variations can also be seen on the exterior front in Expedition trim like it lacks titanium moulding on the bumpers, B and C pillars get black gloss treatment, tailpipe too has received matt chrome treatment and remote control key fob get chrome finished buttons. Front Kidney grille also misses out on the titanium finishing.
