BMW India, the completely owned domestic arm of German luxury car maker, recently organised an xDrive driving programme at the DLF Emporio Mall, Delhi. At the event, the auto maker emphasised on the potentials of its X range of Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs), which have been already performing well in the Indian auto market. Reportedly, a small course was designed within the premises of mall, including an ‘X’ ramp and a few articulation humps. At the event, BMW India showcased some of its iconic X series models, like X3s, X5s and X6s.
The programme started with climbing over the ‘X’ ramp, which slowly tilted towards front, owing to the heavy weight of the SUV. As the ramp tilts forwards, the SUV started moving with its nose pointing down. Therefore, individuals were required to be much careful while driving the model on ramp as moving too fast is quite vulnerable of falling off from the platform.
Interestingly, few other ramps were strategically placed, which had the car tilt over two wheels in air. But the four-wheel drive system of the cars was so effective that it channelised the power produced by the engine to those wheels, which had the maximum traction. The experts of BMW stretched these SUVs to their limits and it was worthy display of powerful SUVs showcasing their brilliant abilities. Industry experts are of a view that all these stunts and programmes entice the auto aficionados and keep them attached with the brand value of the company.
