      BMW gears-up to launch Mini brand of cars in India next year

      The Germany based leading luxury car maker BMW is all set to launch its Mini brand of small cars in the Indian market very soon. The car maker is now looking forward to capture a major chunk of the Indian car market by expanding its presence in the cheaper price segments.

      According to a recent statement given by BMW India Head Mr. Andreas Schaaf the company is gearing up to bring the Mini brand in the Indian market. The Mini brand cars will hit the Indian roads by next year.

      Introduced in the world market in year 1959, the Mini brand was initially owned by British Leyland Motor Corporation. Later on, the brand was owned by Rover Group British Aerospace. In the world market, the iconic make is competing with the likes of Fiat 500 and Volkswagen Beetle.

      Meanwhile, BMW’s arch rival Mercedes Benz is all set to debut in the lower price segment with the launch of its B Class models in the Indian market. The Mercedes Benz B Class will be rivaling with the BMW’s Mini brand in the price segment of Rs 15 to 20 lakh.

      The Mini Series of cars will also giving a tough fight to the Audi’s A3 which is scheduled to hit the Indian roads next year. With all of the top three luxury car makers moving in the lower price segments, the battle for supremacy in the luxury car segment is going to be very intense in the coming months.
