BMW, which is known for its luxury cars in India is about to launch its muscular F650 GS. The powerful F650 GS from the house of BMW is a rough and tough motorbike, which is made for long drive. After surviving some of the most difficult terrains of the world, this bike is making its way to India. As per reports, the F650 GS will carry a price tag of Rs. 9.99 lacs. However, the price may go up to Rs. 12 lacs in near future.

The name F650 GS is quite similar to the Funduro, which the company had launched many years back by collaborating with Hero. F650 GS houses an 800cc engine, which generates power of 70 hp and torque of 75 Nm at 4500 rpm. The company has provided 6-speed gear box transmission capability in the bike. Tyre Pressure Control System in the bike measures the tyre pressure automatically and transmits signal to the rider in case of low pressure.

Front wheel of the bike is 19-inch whereas the rear wheel measures 17-inch. Even at high speed, the bike maintains stability due to the presence of telescopic suspension at the front and mono-shock suspension at the rear. It also has powerful disc brakes for maximum protection. Weighting 200 kg, the new F650 GS certainly has advantage over other heavy motorcycles.

Navnit motors, the only authorised dealers for BMW in the country is responsible for selling its bikes. At present, S1000RR sports bike and an off-road bike R1200GS are sold by this dealer. These bikes cost Rs. 20 lacs each due to which their sales are limited in the country. However, BMW can expect higher sales once the price becomes pocket friendly for the buyers. At present, BMW is the only company to offer motorcycles in the form of CBU. The company has its dealership in both Mumbai and Bangalore, which helps it in selling its vehicles in the country.
