      The newly launched BMW 320d GT Sport has further expanded the 3 Series Gran Turismo portfolio in India. The 3 Series GT Sport emerges as the new entry level variant in the 3 Series Gran Turismo range in the country which consists of the 320d Luxury Line and the 330i M Sport trim, which are priced at Rs 49.2 lakhs and Rs 51.2 lakhs respectively. Here below are the top five things that you need to know about the newly launched 3 Series GT Sport in India –

      Offered with one diesel option

      BMW 320d GT Sport is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that generates 187bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to an eight-speed transmission unit with paddle shifters. The GT is capable of accelerating from 0-100kmph in 7.7 seconds and gets the launch control feature as standard. The car also comes with BMW's Driving Experience Control system that basically offers four different driving modes - Comfort, ECOPRO, Sport, and Sport+.

      Features

      The BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo Sport gets the standard BMW ConnectedDrive features such as BMW Navigation System Professional with 3D maps (integrated Global Positioning System-GPS), BMW apps, Bluetooth and USB connectivity and rear view camera with PDC rear and front. Upholstery options include - sensatec black with red highlights and sensatec veneto beige. It also gets fine-wood interior trim which is finished in Ash Grain along with metal inlays. However, being offered as the most affordable 3 Series GT model in India, it misses out on features such as adaptive LED headlights and is now offered with standard high-resolution instrument display with extended contents instead of the 10.5-inch adaptive instrument display with individual character designs for drive modes.

      Unique styling bits

      To distinguish the 3 Series GT Sport from its older siblings, it features high-gloss design elements at the front and back, while the front door sills finishers get aluminium BMW embossed inserts. The tailpipe is gets a black chrome finish and a leather steering wheel with red contrast stitching. The car sits on 18-inch twin five-spoke alloy wheels and is available in three colour options - alpine white, black sapphire (metallic), and imperial blue (metallic).

      Safety

      The 3 Series GT is offered with comprehensive safety packages in the form of Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with brake assist, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC). The car also gets six airbags Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Side-impact Protection and crash sensor. The company has additionally also included runflat tyres with reinforced sidewalls, an emergency spare wheel and electronic vehicle immobiliser.

      Competition

      Although the car does not have direct competition in India, for a similar price one can also get the Audi A4, Volvo S60 Cross Country and the non-AMG Mercedes C-Class. Buyers can also opt for the Jaguar XF Pure Diesel or the Range Rover Evoque Pure.
