BMW, the iconic German manufacturer, has revealed its 2 Series Coupe amid all the hype surrounding the model. The new model is expected to go on sale next year and will replace the outgoing 1 Series Coupe that is based on the incumbent 1 Series hatchback. The German manufacturer was expected to unveil it at the upcoming Detroit Motor Show but it has showcased the car much ahead of its schedule. As seen in previous launches like 4 Series, the upcoming vehicle of BMW adopts the similar naming convention of even numbers. What seems to be the concept behind this new naming strategy is that BMW is trying to create a segment in which all sporty cars are placed. Interestingly, this fact is evident from the previous launches that include 6 Series and 4 Series.
