What you see in the pictures is a BMW 1 Series saloon that has been spotted in Munich, Germany.
Other than the badges, the car is absolutely undisguised and sources add that the model is actually a 120i. Is it possible that BMW could be checking out if the 1 Series saloon makes sense for the European market, even though the carmaker initially denied it?
Well, the BMW 1 Series saloon, as everybody knows, was exclusively built for the Chinese market to target the likes of the Mercedes-Benz CLA, and was recently introduced at the 2016 Guangzhou Auto Show in November.
Sources speculate that the brand could be analysing if this saloon’s proportions can make it a viable proposition in the European market. The 1 Series saloon is based on the UKL platform, and along with the front-wheel drive capability, it borrows a majority of the engines and transmissions from the Mini’s line-up.
Stay tuned to CarTrade to know if the 1 Series saloon eventually heads for the European market.
