      Bikes and superbikes at the Auto Expo 2012

      With just a few days to go before the 11th edition of the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo, here is a sneak peek into what two-wheeler manufactures have in store. The exhibition will have many two-wheeler makers introducing their products and other concept vehicles.

      India has the world’s second largest market for two-wheelers. More than 1,500 companies from 24 countries will be joining the country at Delhi Auto Expo beginning from 7th January, 2012. Around 50 new launches and showcases are expected at the mega show, including 9 new two-wheelers.

      The highlight of the show will be Bajaj KTM Duke 200, 600 cc Ninja, Hero Impulse and the new Yamaha R15 Version 2.0. Mahindra will also be in focus, as it has planned to launch its new Duro DZ scooter and exhibit its MGP30 racing motorcycle. Hero Motocorp, India’s largest two-wheeler makers, will make the debut of its new Maestro scooter, while Yamaha India will put on display its sporty looking bike Fazer 250. Yamaha’s other models, such as VMax, FZ1 and MT-01, are also expected to draw bikers’ attention.

      It is expected that TVS, one of the leading two-wheeler makers of India, will come with its flagship model, TVS Apache RTR 180. The model is now available in optional Anti-locking Braking System (ABS). Royal Enfield, one of the oldest motorbike makers in India, will exhibit its classic bikes like Royal Enfield Classic 500 and Bullet 350 at the event. The company also intends on introducing some new unique concept motorcycles.

      Suzuki, the Japanese automaker, will display its international range of sports and touring bikes at the show along with Hayabusa. The latest Intruder in Suzuki line-up will include Intruder M800 along with Intruder M1800RZ. Along with other motorbikes, the GS 150R will also be seen at Suzuki’s pavilion. .

      On the Western front, Harley-Davidson, the renowned American motorcycle manufacturer, will be seen with its 2012 Heritage Softail Classic. The company made its entry into the Indian two-wheeler market in 2010. BMW Motorrad will launch its 2012 K 1600GT and K 1600 GTL along with its new scooters, C 650 GT and C 600 Sport at the Auto Expo 2012.

      Triumph Motorcycles, the UK based two-wheeler manufacturer, will be seen for the first time at the Delhi Auto Expo. The company will exhibit its iconic bikes, Bonneville and Rocket III, along with its Speed Triple, Street Triple, Daytona 675 and Tiger 800XC.

      Sportsbikes will also be spotted during the grand event, with Yamaha bringing its MotoGP-derived R1. Ducati, the Italian manufacturer, is also geared up to display its sportsbike 848 Streetfighter at the high profile show.

      All these two-wheeler manufacturers will make sure that their products get the maximum attention and attract the crowd to their stalls.
