The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R hatchback has been marketed as the Intelligent car in the Indian market. The hatchback has been a popular pick in the local market for nearly a decade now. Recently, owing to the presence of wide fleet of hatchbacks from various car-makers in the local market the Wagon R hatchback has been loosing out on its sales numbers. As an attempt to revive its sales numbers, Maruti Suzuki has reportedly been working on developing a new Wagon R that shall be more fuel efficient and reliable than the existing lot.
The anticipated version of Wagon R is expected to be powered by existing engine configuration, but this around the engine may be slightly tweaked for better performance scores. Minor cosmetic changes could be seen in the new avatar and additions of new features are also likely. Tweaked head lights and tail lights are likely to be equipped in the new version. The tail lights are likely to receive generous amount of LED lights. Major changes in the design of the hatchback are not anticipated, however auto experts have hinted that refreshed WagonR could share cues with WagonR Stingray. Among other exterior changes, the hatchback is likely to come with a taller airdam and reworked front and rear bumpers.
Detailed report on the anticipated face-lifted version of Wagon R shall only be known post an official announcement made by the company in this regard. The hatchback is expected to be launched sometime early next year. Post launch, the newer version is expected to boost the overall sales numbers.
