Dominating passenger car segment in India for almost a decade now, Maruti Suzuki Alto achieved path-breaking mileage of 49.3 in one litre of petrol during Alto Xplore Max Mileage Rally organized by Maruti Suzuki India Limited. The Alto Xplore Max Mileage Rally, a Maruti Suzuki initiative to increase awareness and educate customers on driving habits for obtaining maximum mileage, witnessed participation of 312 Alto / Alto K-10 owners scattered across the country.
Best mileage was achieved by Dilip Das, recording a drive of 49.3 kilometres to consume one litre of petrol. The next best mileage at the rally was achieved by Mehdi Hassan from Hyderabad, reading 48.2 kmpl. He was closely followed by P. Sai Sumanth from Hyderabad, whose Alto fetched a mileage of 47.6 kmpl.
With the objective of enhancing customer awareness across India, Alto Xplore Max Mileage rally was held in four cities, which include Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Jaipur. The rally participants were provided with a time chart, route map and maximum mileage booklet. ‘Top up to top up’ method, ensuring accurate measure of fuel consumption and mileage achieved, was used for calculating fuel efficiency.
Shashank Srivastava, Chief General Manager (Marketing), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, presented awards to winners of the rally. At the felicitation ceremony, he said that Maruti Suzuki Limited is committed to offer highly fuel efficient cars for consumers, the foremost reason for Alto's significant success. Underlining fuel economy as the most critical factor, he explained significance of mileage in the current scenario of escalating fuel prices. Referring to the event, he added that such initiatives help owners to improve fuel economies of their cars and also provide them an opportunity to discover mileage of other cars of Maruti's fleet.
