There have been lots of anticipations and speculations about the launch of the Italian bike manufacturer Benelli in the last few months. However, the wait is not yet over as the manufacturer has delayed its launch to the third week of February. Initially, its launch date was scheduled to be the third week of January. The oldest motorcycle manufacturer in the world had announced that it would enter the Indian market last year along with a tie-up with DSK Motowheels. The company also showcased 5 models that would be brought to the country via the CKD route. It is suspected that the delay has been attributed to homologation issues.

The Italian manufacturer is also going through the phase of testing its bikes in the nation. The TNT 300 is the one, which is going through the most of tests. The manufacturer has tried a range of sprockets in the bike ranging from 41T to 46T to offer a better balance of high-end performance as well as acceleration. The more affordable model, the TNT 300 street-fighter will compete against the likes of KTM Duke 390 and Kawasaki Z250. The bike will enter the extremely competitive quarter-litre sphere, which is why the manufacturer will want it to be perfectly tuned before its launch.

The Benelli TNT 300 is powered by a 300 cc, parallel twin mill with fuel injection. It generates 37 PS of power and combines with 27.1 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the wheel using a six-speed transmission system. Other than this model, the range comprises TNT 600, TNT 899 and the flagship model TNT 1130R. The company also has the plans to launch the mono-cylinder TNT 250 street-fighter and the Keeway Blackster cruiser bike during the later part of the year. Both the models will be retailed from the Benelli showroom, which will be set up across nine different cities in India.
