Country’s leading two-wheeler maker, Bajaj Auto is gearing-up to showcase the concept version of its much awaited ultra low cost car at the Delhi International Auto Expo. The Bajaj small car, which will be launched in the Indian market in the A segment of cars, is expected to come powered by an 800 cc engine.
As per the recent reports of Auto Car India, the new Bajaj small car will be unveiled on January 3rd, where a large number of car enthusiasts will be waiting to see the first glimpse of this highly fuel efficient small car. The major competitors of this Bajaj small car will be the likes of Tata Nano and Maruti Alto in the Indian market.
It has been more than 3 years since Bajaj is developing this small car especially for the Indian market. Earlier, the company was in talks with Nissan – Renault joint venture to develop this car jointly. While Nissan-Renault was expected to take care of the marketing and distributions of this model, Bajaj was supposed to handle the development of the car including the engineering and designing.
The Bajaj small car will be based on the company’s two and three vehicle platform, and will be carrying a considerably higher fuel economy of over 30 km per liter.
